Pay for What You Need
At Service Electric, we believe that you should only pay for the speed you need. Internet speed is measured in megabits per second or Mbps for both download and upload, with the download speed being most important and typically faster than upload speed. We offer several different download speeds up to “Gig Speed” (940 Mbps) to fit all your needs!

Did you know?
You need a modem and router for your Internet to work - but what does that even mean? Click to learn more!
- Modem

What is a modem?
Your modem is a device that connects your home to our Internet service. In the typical home, our coaxial cable plugs into your modem and carries the Internet signal. Some modems include a built-in wireless router to provide Wi-Fi from a single unit. You can rent a modem on a monthly basis from Service Electric, and our equipment is guaranteed for the life of your relationship with us. If your rented modem ever stops working, we will be there to fix or replace it, typically at no cost to you.
- Router

What is a router?
The router connects to the modem, acting as a “go-between” connecting your devices to the Internet signal. Your router may also include levels of protection like a firewall to help keep your data safe. Sometimes the wireless Wi-Fi router is “built-in” with the modem, but can also be a separate piece of equipment like the eero Tru-Mesh router. You can rent a router on a monthly basis from Service Electric, and our equipment is guaranteed for the life of your relationship with us. If your rented router ever stops working, we will be there to fix or replace it, typically at no cost to you.
Need a speed increase?
If you ever want to increase your speed, all it takes is a phone call and we will increase your speed instantly over the phone! If your connectivity is poor only in certain areas of your home, it may not be your Internet speed but rather your Wifi router. There are a variety of other factors that affect your home Internet speed, especially if you are using a WiFi (wireless router) connection for your devices.
